Installation of NoXygen® with MAG 76
NoXygen® was chosen from the outset to deal with functional disruptions due to gas in the system fluid, but positive effects in terms of energy savings were quick to follow. HSB had a plan to improve the energy efficient of the property, not least because the tenant-owner’s association had for several years been subject to penalty fees due to poor cooling of the district heating return line. They therefore had a good overview of heating costs.
The NoXygen equipment was commissioned in mid-September 2014. Initially, it was planned to install a standard model NoXygen®, but due to the high system pressure, the decision was made to install a NoXygen® F, which can cope with 5.5 bar. The system had high gas levels and needed constant and significant degassing to maintain the gases at acceptable levels. The degasser is therefore run continuously in manual mode with maximum degassing, instead of in maintenance mode with just 1 hour of degassing every day.
We could see positive effects after about a month. The penalty fees gradually reduced, finally becoming a temperature bonus.

Without the NoXygen® degasser, the cost of penalty fees in the period 2011–2015 would have amounted to SEK 131,555.
Instead the sum was SEK 77,700.
“When we installed the degasser in the system, we got an immediate dividend. We’re saving SEK 40,000 per year for an initial investment of SEK 50,000,” says Sverker Högberg, Chair of the brf Lysbomben association.
