Frequently asked questions

The code is interpreted via our code template which is available on our website. It states the type of pump, dimension, control valve, available pressure, connection principle, flow and pressure drop in connected objects.
Yes, our shunt units are included in MagiCAD’s product database. You can download them from our website.
Yes, our shunt units are available as plug-ins for MagiCAD, which helps you to calculate and design shunt units for MagiCAD projects. You can download them from our website.

The requirements for available pressure are included in the ordering guide for the product, stated for the relevant size.

-> TTM Shuntomatic®

-> TTM Shuntomatic® Mini

It weighs just 8.5 kg and is adapted for installation direct on the existing pipe coupling. Do I need to log in to do a calculation in the Shuntselect calculation program?

Shuntopac Green Line uses low-lead valves and is rated B in Sundahus and Accepted in the Construction Products Assessment. Other shunt units have a minimum rating of C- in SundaHus and Avoided in the Construction Products Assessment.

Yes, the calculation software is open on the swedish website, in swedish language. Once you have made your calculation, contact TTM for a quote.

Yes, TTM Shuntopac® combined shunts are also available for several different applications.

The make and type of the control valve determines the type of actuator.

All dimensions and weights are stated on the relevant on all product pages and in product sheets.

NoXygen is designed for stationary operation – in other words not to be moved around.

Yes, via a potential-free alternating contact. See the NoXygen installation instructions.

NoXygen is rated up to 70°C and exceeding the maximum limit can lead to pump failure and/or seal leakage.

NoXygen F650 is approved for use in ethylene glycol and propylene glycol systems up to 50 vol%.
NoXygen C625, C650 and M650 must not be run on glycol systems.

Yes, with NoXygen F650; but not with C650 and M650

First check to make sure the fluid is reaching the pump. Sometimes they ‘get stuck in vacuum mode’. When you have purged the pump and released the fluid it will start. Check that the cable to the pressure sensor is firmly attached to the sensor.
No, NoXygen is not able to go into vacuum and degas the system fluid if the system pressure is higher than 5 bar. The degasser doesn’t go as far into vacuum, which means degassing isn’t as effective.

When tested in a test rig, C625, C650 and M650 degassed down to about 0.3 mg oxygen/litre. The degassing capacity varies depending on the size of the system, fluid temperature, system pressure, whether the system contains a lot of plastic pipes (underfloor heating) and the tightness of the system against air leakage. To achieve maximum performance in the system where the NoXygen is installed, the system must be sealed against air ingress via top vents, incorrectly set expansion vessels, abnormal water filling or similar.

Energy consumption is 2.6 kWh/day for fast degassing (first 30 days in default) and 0.1 kWh/h for default maintenance degassing.

The NoXygen must be connected to the return line and can be connected to horizontal and vertical pipes. Recommended distance between taps is 300-600 mm. If the NoXygen is to be installed without a magnetite filter on a horizontal pipe, the connection should be made on the top of the pipe line to avoid dirt getting stuck in the NoXygen.

NoXygen C625 fits systems from 300 litres to 25 000 litres. The NoXygen 650 models fit systems from 500 to 50 000 litres system volume. For larger systems, the NoXygen is connected in series in the return flow of the manifold.

GeniX has Modbus RTU and it communicates via RS485. GeniX detects the communication speed (baud rate) of the master automatically (9600, 19200, 38400 and 57600bd). 8 data bits 2 stop bits.

It is possible to connect two containers in series for larger volumes, e.g. 500 + 200 litres.

Check the cable on the pressure sensor to make sure it is intact and not loose, if this does not help, replace the pressure sensor.

The system pressure can be calculated as the static height plus 3 mvp, i.e. 1.3 bar.

In small systems with little built-in expansion or in larger systems with regular pressure variations, the pressure is affected very instantly at pump start-up and a value of 0.3 to 0.5 may be appropriate. In larger systems, 0.2 to 0.3 is a reasonable range.

The safety valve and pressure gauge must be mounted on the expansion line.

No, none of our mixing vessels are classified for ammonia.

The requirements for containment vary between regions. Some regions classify ethanol blends above 5% as hazardous waste, requiring some form of containment vessel like TTM Protector.

Filters should be changed when the MAG 250 pressure gauge shows 1 bar higher pressure than the system pressure at the connection point. However, to ensure proper performance, the filter should be checked visually at least once a month. For new installations at more frequent intervals. If the filter becomes clogged quickly, it is recommended to use coarser mesh filters until the largest particles have been filtered out.

We recommend installing the MAG 250 on the return pipe, but it is possible to install it on the inlet pipe if the temperature is below 60 degrees.

There is only one size of filter and it has a mesh size of 1 micron.

The period of time the filter is running depends on how much dirt is in the system. Check the filter regularly and replace the filter insert if it is clogged. When the filter is not filled, the system is clean.

VDI 2035 is initially a German industry standard that defines what is meant by appropriate water. The standard, which has also become accepted in Sweden, includes recommended levels for pH, oxygen content and conductivity. A system fluid that meets the VDI’s recommendations is considered to be able to maintain its technical performance over time. In addition, corrosion, calcification and reduced efficiency of system components are prevented.

Conductivity: < 100 ms/cm
Appearance of water: free of particles
pH: 8.2 – 10
Oxygen level: <0,1 mg/l
